New Delhi: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Padmavati' was going to be released on December 1. But after the huge controversy, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film was stopped and postponed its release. Surprisingly, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not yet certified the release of the film 'Padmavati'. The government gave its information on Monday. Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd) said this to the Rajya Sabha on Monday. He said that the certificate application for the 3D version of 'Padmavati' was presented to the CBFC on November 28, 2017.

In response to a question, he told that the film will pass through the process of certification in accordance with the guidelines made under the Film Act of 1952, Film (Certification) Rules 1983 and its guidelines. Under the Rule 41 of the Film (Certification) Rules, 1983, a time limit of 68 days has been fixed for the certification process. Rathore said that if the opinions of experts on the subjects shown in the film are expected, the CBFC chairman will decide on the additional time limit.

The protest which is passing through 'Padmavati' is also similar to 'Varna' in Pakistan.

It is not the first time that the censor board has returned the film 'Padmavati' without passing it. On the other hand, many states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, have banned the film in their state. Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of this historic movie, starring stars like Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranvir Singh.
